Corporate Profile
HLI was founded in 1976 as a landscape architectural/site planning consultancy which moved toward a cemetery-specific focus in 1991 with cemetery consulting revenues now accounting for 96% of the firm’s annual income.
Specializing now in the “business of cemeteries” HLI provides advice to a wide range of municipal and private sector cemetery clients, provincially, nationally and stateside.
Because of our firm’s founding years in landscape architecturally-based projects in urban design/site development, the firm’s acquired site planning/design expertise and related business acumen provides an excellent base to benefit its clientele in all aspects of cemetery developments from Feasibility Studies, Land Demand/Needs Analysis, Business/Strategic Plans, Master Planning, Detailed Design, Tender/Construction activities and Project Capital Cost budget allocations, Perpetual Care Fund Adequacy Analysis and Marketing Plans.
Hilton Landmarks has successfully completed a variety of nearly 500 cemetery-based commissions to date across Canada and the USA. Consequently, HLI has extensive and well-founded in-house team expertise and cemetery knowledge base to provide the best value for exceeding its Clients’ service requirements for such projects.
Key to assessing not only the physiologic aspects of expansion lands for any Cemetery is the capacity to meet the community’s after death care needs in a fiscally self sustaining manner, without tax subsidy, in perpetuity. Thus HLI often provides value added insights by completing overview Demand/Needs Analysis and PCF Adequacy Analysis which shape both the nature and (amount of) land use for a cemetery development.
While HLI has completed commissions for many smaller not-for-profit facilities, it has done so for many larger religious and or non religious operations as well.
